What has changed
Substantive changes only, with the date each one went live. Corrections are listed the same way as additions, because a page that was wrong and got fixed is the more useful thing to know about.
Every list page now holds names of its own
One pool of names had been spread across the whole site: /cool-team-names carried 140 names and not one of them was unique to it, and the two trivia pages shared 47% of their lists. Around thirty pages were rewritten so each covers what only it can — Call of Duty pages use that game's modes, streaks and perks, the Xbox page keeps inside its 12-character limit, the PlayStation page uses the extra four characters its own limit allows, and the softball page talks about the rover, the arc and the mercy rule. No two pages now share more than 13% of their names.
Counts are counted, not written down
Fifty pages promised more names than they held, because the number in the title was typed once and never re-counted after an edit. The figure is no longer stored anywhere: it is counted from the list, rounded down to a ten, and the build fails if anyone writes one by hand again. Names repeated inside a single page were removed, so a count matches what a reader would actually count.
Privacy, storage and vendor statements corrected
The footer said nothing is stored while the star button was saving names in the browser, and the homepage FAQ repeated it in its structured data. Both now describe what really happens. The privacy and cookie pages name the two third parties separately — Google for advertising, Cloudflare for delivery and its edge analytics — and say what each does.
Translated pages declare their own language
The Spanish, Portuguese, French and German pages were served as English in the page source, so a screen reader read translated guidance in an English voice. Each language now has its own document language, and the generated names, which stay English on every page, are marked as English so a screen reader switches voice for the list.
Sitemap dates reflect real edits
Every one of the 101 URLs carried the time of the last build, so the whole site appeared to change daily. Dates are now recorded per page when its content really changes.
Suggestion rules match on both pages
The contact page said nothing crude is published while the suggestion page invited names blunt enough for a host to read aloud. There is now one rule, stated the same way in both places. The suggestion form also says why it cannot be used when no name is typed, in a way a screen reader announces, and offers the email address for anyone without a mail app.
Titles stopped promising availability
Several titles said names were still available or that nobody else had them, which this site cannot check and says so in its own disclaimer. Those titles now describe what is actually true of the list — a character limit, or that the names are built from rare words.
